The Indian badminton team created history by winning the Thomas Cup held in Bangkok, Thailand a week ago. India then broke the reign of 14-time champion Indonesia. Coach Pullela Gopichand said that this is a bigger win for the country than the 1983 World Cup.

The Indian badminton team, who returned home after achieving this historic victory, has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised him.
During this, the players shared their experiences with the Prime Minister. In his tweet, the PM said that the players talked about different aspects of the game. He talked about his life apart from badminton. India is proud of his achievement.
The final team that won the Thomas Cup was Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth and doubles players Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy. India had defeated Malaysia and Denmark before reaching the final.
